1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing or using the Hanguljo application or website (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Hanguljo is a Korean language learning application offering Hangul foundations, vocabulary, grammar and particles, reading, listening, conversation practice, TOPIK-aligned lessons, spaced-repetition review, OCR scanning and home-screen widgets. We may add, modify or remove features at any time to improve the Service.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hanguljo. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Hanguljo offers a free plan and optional premium plans (auto-renewable monthly and yearly subscriptions, and a one-time lifetime purchase). Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.

• Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account settings.

A single premium plan unlocks premium content across our family of language apps — Hanguljo, Hanzijo and Kanjijo — for the same signed-in account. Prices may vary by region and are shown before purchase.

5. Free Plan & Advertisements

The free plan provides access to core content with a daily limit on newly unlocked lessons. Free users may choose to watch optional rewarded ads to unlock additional content. Ads never interrupt reviews or tests.

6. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Hanguljo for personal, non-commercial educational purposes, subject to these Terms.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service or its content;
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where permitted by law;
• Use the Service to violate any law or infringe others’ rights;
• Disrupt or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

All content in Hanguljo — including lessons, mnemonics, audio, software, design and the Hanguljo name and logo — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Your learning data remains yours.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes, TOPIK exam results, or uninterrupted, error-free operation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hanguljo and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
