Hanguljo follows the TOPIK levels from 1 to 6: 6,718 words, 150 grammar explanations and the particles, taught in 439 lessons with a test after each, and 1,432 Hanja memory hooks for the vocabulary of the higher levels.
Lessons are ordered by TOPIK level, so you meet the everyday words and endings of TOPIK 1 and 2 first and the formal vocabulary and connectives of TOPIK 5 and 6 later. Each lesson ends with a test that checks you can recall it, listen for it and use it.
Much of the vocabulary from TOPIK 3 upwards is built from Hanja. Hanguljo gives 1,432 Hanja a memory hook each, so learning 學 once makes 학교, 학생 and 과학 fall into place.
