Frequently asked questions
How does the Korean counter simulator work?
Pick a counter, press Start, and the clerk speaks each line aloud using your browser’s built-in Korean voice. Choose the reply you would give; you see straight away whether it fits and why, and the correct reply is read aloud too.
What is listening mode?
Listening mode blurs the clerk’s words until you have answered, so you have to understand the line by ear, as you would at a real counter. Use Play again or Slower as often as you like.
Why can I not hear anything?
The voices come from your device. On iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows a Korean voice is usually installed; if not, add one in your system’s speech or language settings. The simulator still works without sound, with every line shown as text.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no signup and nothing is stored or sent anywhere: it runs entirely in your browser.
Where can I read every line with explanations?
Each scene has a full written guide: the convenience store guide and the café and ordering guide. Read one, then come back and run the scene in listening mode.
